Transition Update

Members

BlueFit is excited to commence operations of the Fleurieu Aquatic Centre on Wednesday 1st July. It is important to note that in almost all cases, it will be a case of ‘business as usual’ for members,  however we understand you will want to understand what these changes mean for you.

Membership Continuity
Your membership and its benefits will remain the same. You can continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to all our facilities and services. All membership data has been securely transferred. We are excited to confirm that new equipment will be available on site from Wednesday 1st July. This includes updated strength equipment and new cardio pieces. We understand that you may not be familiar with the newer gym equipment. We will have additional team members available to assist you with any of your queries and to show you how to use these new pieces.

Timetable Update
The majority of the Group fitness class times will remain the same however, names of classes will be changed from YMCA owned programs to BlueFit owned programs. For a sneak peak at the updated timetable, please click here.

New App for members
As part of the transition, a new app will become available for customers. The YMCA app will no longer work for Fleurieu Aquatic Centre customers. To book your group fitness classes from 1st July onwards, download the BlueFit Health Club app. This app will be essential for managing your class bookings and will allow members to book classes a week in advance.

The BlueFit Health Club app will use the same MyWellness account you previously used to access the YMCA app. After downloading the new app, simply reset your password to gain access. Click here to find out more. Please note you will not be able to access the app until 1st July.

Gym Program & Progress retained
Your current training program and progress data within Mywellness will be transferred to the BlueFit Health Club app. After 1st July this data will no longer be accessible in your YMCA app but will have a new home in the BlueFit Health Club app. This means you can continue to access your gym program through the transition and beyond.

First Fortnightly Direct Debit
The first direct debit under the new management will be processed on Wednesday 1st July as a partial debit up until Thursday 9th July. The first full fortnight debit will occur on Friday 10th July, and continue fortnightly on Fridays. To view our debit calendar click here. Your debit details have been securely transferred across. If you would like to update your payment details, please update them with the YMCA before 18th June or after the 1st July with BlueFit directly.   ADD DEBIT CALENDAR

Facility Operations
There will be minimal change to the existing staff, so you will continue to see the familiar faces you know and trust.  Opening hours of the facility will also stay unchanged.Check In Process
There will be a slight update to the check-in process for members. All customers will be required to scan in at reception before coming to the gym. The check QR codes will not be available from 1st July.

Families - Transition Update

We are very excited to welcome you to the BlueFit Swimming family!

Starting Wednesday 1st July, Fleurieu Aquatic Centre will transition from YMCA to BlueFit All current YMCA learn to swim enrolments will transfer to the BlueFit Swimming program.

With this change, students will notice new signage and uniforms, but class times will stay the same.
BlueFit Swimming is an industry leading learn to swim program that operates more than 60 swim schools across Australia. Our program builds swimming skills and confidence through structured levels with 8-10 skills each. Students move up levels once they master all skills in their current level.

You might see some different skills in BlueFit levels compared to YMCA. During the first two weeks, we will observe lessons to ensure proper level placement. If you have any concerns, please speak with our team on the pool deck.

Please note that there is nothing for you to do to continue your enrolment. Your child's level name and lesson structure may change slightly to align with the BlueFit Swimming program. There may also be changes to their swimming lane and teacher. We are working closely with the team to limit the amount of changes required
.

Scan in at Reception:
Swim School students will now scan in at reception before their lesson. This new process replaces the use of turnstile gates to ensure a more personalised experience for everyone.
There may be some teacher and lane changes to accommodate the learning outcomes of the program. Please reach out to the team on deck if you have any questions regarding your lesson.

Click here for our level conversion chart to see what level your child may be moving to.

Frequently Asked Class Questions

Why has this change occurred?

Fleurieu Aquatic Centre  is owned by the Alexandrina and City of Victor Harbor Councils and the management is contracted out to a leisure facility management company. YMCA has operated the Fleurieu Aquatic Centre for a number of years and with the existing contract expiring, an open tender process was conducted, as is standard practice.

Who is BlueFit?

BlueFit is a leisure facility management specialist, which operates approximately 70 facilities across Australia. BlueFit promotes a family culture and commitment towards its motto of ‘Inspiring Community Activity’. Website: www.bluefit.com.au

What happens to the current staff?

BlueFit anticipates almost total retention of the existing staff, so you will be seeing the same faces at the facility upon transition.

What happens to programs and services between now and 1 July?

It will be ‘business as usual’ for programs and services, which will continue to be operated by the YMCA until close of business on Monday 29th June. Please note there will be a closure on Tuesday 30th June to allow the YMCA to transition out.

What happens to my previous account balance?

Any credits and oustandings owed prior to the 1st July will be settled with you directly by the YMCA before the transition. Make up lessons will need to be used before the 1st July transition.

What immediate change will be apparent on 1 July?

Apart from new uniforms, members and users will not see any discernible change on the 1st of July. All existing programs and timetables will remain in place initially, and any ‘YMCA owned’ programs will be replaced with similar BlueFit programs.
Over time BlueFit may implement enhancements to the current offer, and this would be communicated directly with members and users.

Will fees and charges increase?

Fees and charges increase on an annual basis by CPI and are controlled by the council. An increase takes effect from 1st July in line with this standard increase schedule.

Will my membership automatically roll over?

Yes, your membership will continue with your first fortnightly debit on Friday 1st July. YMCA will have debited you up until June 29th. Your access remains active continuously through this transition. If you have any questions on the fortnightly charge this Friday, please contact the facility.

What about existing tenant user-groups?

BlueFit will be contacting all existing user groups directly, again with the expectation of ‘business as usual’.
